This poetry collection by Highstreet takes the reader on a journey through life and the changes that make the difference. The reader travels through insecurities, lost, growth, identity, change and love. It explores family dynamics, leaving the past behind, finding love and losing it and learning who you are. I found favorites in the importance of memories, cherished moments, celebrations of growing up and loving a grandma and in “intertwined” a tribute to an older sister. All and all, this was a great read and a journey worth the time.

The progression of emotions and vulnerability is so apparent it’s like the rose vine itself has intertwined with your soul and is articulating emotions better than you ever have before. I had moments of chills, empathetic and cathartic tears. And felt like I’ve known the author my whole life. Its truly such an art to be able to put such impact into minimal phrasing, and jess nails it every time. I look forward to her future work!
